2013 Faves - Light Green

My beloved mailman just came with two beauties from Girly Bits that I can't wait to get on my tips.  However, I want to be able to do some nail art tonight and I need to get the light greens to you today, so they are sitting, abandoned, on my desk.  But not for long!  So let's get to it quick, so I can go play!

Just a reminder.  I always paint to opacity and then add one more coat for the macro pics.  In other words, when it says I used 3 coats, you can usually achieve "in real life opacity" at 2 coats.  In no particular order:

Julep Payton - 3 coats
Payton is Julep Nan's green lovin' brother.  It's crellie formula applies like butter...green apple butter!  It is a cool leaning green that isn't really a mint green and not really a grass green.  It hovers between the two and is unique in my collection.  The crellie finish makes it deliciously squishy!  I think it would be awesome for nail art, although I have yet to use it creatively.

Orly Coachella Dweller
Another creme!  The light greens are filled with cremes!  Another solid one too, but this time a pastel pea green.  Yep, that is how I would describe it.  The color lies between the two pics above.  The flash pic below pic below is the closest to true.  Another winner from the Orly Hope and Freedom collection (Melodious Utopia is in this collection too).

Here's some bonus nail art using Candeo Colors Mallard that never made it to the blog.  Can you really call it nail art?  All I did was sponge some glitter on vertically!  Hope you enjoy a little break from the pure polish post!

Girly Bits Lack of Pies - 2 coats
Okay, I will admit it....this is one of the Girly Bits that came in the mail today!  I had to swatch it because I only had 4 light greens in this collection and I had a feeling that this would make the list.  I was right!  Of course, I was in such a hurry to get it on my nails, I don't feel like I really did it justice, so you probably will see it again soon.  This pale green is filled with silver holo.  I usually don't like this kind of holo particles, it dulls vibrant colors, but in this it creates this greyed green tone that really appeals to me.  PLUS, it could easily be a one coater and should be good for stamping!

Zoya Josie - 2 coats
Another green creme!  When I realized I had few cremes in my stash, I purchased a bunch of them from Zoya.  This is a tone brighter and darker than Payton.  Not a whole lo to say about this, other than I like the color and LOVE the application!  This a self leveling, put it where you want it, highly pigmented polish.  A solid top pick.

Contrary Polish The Way I Am -  3 coats
Time for the #1 light green.  Another favorite from the Love Lyrics collection.  It is a muted olive with scattered purple micro glitters and a slight blue shimmer.  This is my #1 because it contains my favorite color combo, greyed light green and purple.  Also, like every other Contrary Polish I own, the formula is perfect applies like a dream.  The only thing that would make it better is if there were some off white and black glitters in it too.  Maybe I will make my own some day.  You can find nail art with The Way I Am HERE.

So what do you think of all the cremes in this list?  Was that a surprise to you?  It was to me!  I hope to seem more light greens with more complicated finishes in the coming year.  Are you listening Indie creators?
