Day 5 of 12 Holiday Movie

Today's theme is my all time favorite holiday movie. Christmas is not Christmas without seeing this at least once. Can you guess? I'll give you a hint.

"Santie Claus, why? Why are you taking our Christmas tree? Why?"

Do you know it?  Yes it is the Grinch Who Stole Christmas! I am sure that I saw the inspiration for these nails somewhere, but I couldn't find it in my pins, so I can't direct you anywhere but here.

And here's the quote that goes with these nails.  "And what happened, then? Well, in Whoville they say - that the Grinch's small heart grew three sizes that day."

Here's how I did it.  I started with two coats of OPI  Don't Talk Bach To Me.

This is a funky pea soup green that, for some strange reason, I love.  It has a little bit of a shimmer to it, which takes it beyond a normal creme finish into something special.

Next I used acrylics to paint the heart and the "sprung" xray.

After the black and red, I added gold to the black.  Here is a pic without flash so you can see a little more detail.

I didn't particularly like how my thumb turned out, so you only get this glimpse of it (tee hee).

Want to see something that you don't get to see often here?  My left hand!  I decided I wanted to do something different on the left, so I added the top of Cindy Lou's head on the ring finger and the top of the dog's head with antlers on my thumb.

Okay, it's a little sloppy, but considering I free handed this painting with my left hand, I am very proud of it!  What do you think?  Don't forget to check out all the other movie themed nails!

    1. Thanks Leslie! Wish I had that Zoya matte in my stash, but this OPI was a pretty good match (I think?)

    1. Oh trust me, there's a reason you don't normally see my left hand! For some reason this turned out palatable. Maybe my love for the film steadied my hand :)
