Recreating My First Nail Art

I'm feeling a bit lost without the Never Ending Pile challenge.  But it is not the only challenge in my life, right?  There is Bria's graduation party...which was Sunday, so now that challenge is over.  The only challenge left there is figuring out different ways to cook pulled pork for the next month!  I do have a couple other nail challenges that are once a week, but I may just do my own thing here for awhile.

However, today is all about The Nail Challenge Collaborative.  The theme this month is to recreate your first four nail art designs.  I was doing designs before I started my blog, but I decided to go with my first four posts.  Here is my first one.  You can find the post HERE.

And here is what I came up with.

The real challenge with this challenge is that all my early designs were fall/winter related, so I just used the basic concept and tried to make them more summery.

I started with two coats of Cult Nails Tempest.  I made stamping decals with BM-217, so that I could get the "ruffians" even and then filled the flowers with Deborah Lippmann Girls Just Want To Have Fun (pink) and Ellagee Cadmium Glass (yellow).

This stark design is a little out of my comfort zone, but I still like it.  Of course it looks tons better IRL as you can't see the sloppiness of the pink.

So, what do you think?  I certainly am better at clean-up!  Thanks for looking and commenting!

  1. I like how you changed up the design to make it more interesting and different from the original. I like it.

  2. Mine were also in the fall. I am doing my best to make them summery too. I love, love, love the idea of making the decals for your ruffian! I would never have thought of that as being a sure-fire way to even them out on the nail! Great idea!
