Day 22 of Crumpets 31 DC - Fabric

I am dead tired so this is going to be a quick post.  Today's theme is inspired by a fabric.  The fabric I chose is the carpet runner on our stairs.

And here is what I came up with.

I started with three coats of Zoya Gemma.

I have a love/hate relationship with Gemma.  She is a very thin polish.  I started with two thin coats and then added one last generous coat.  If I was doing it right, I would have done four thin coats, but I didn't have the patience.  The result was a dent on my thumb.  Dry time was decent, but with the thin finish, it took too much of my time.  HOWEVER, this is one of those polishes that I am willing to wear, despite the need for multiple coats.  There is nothing else like it in my stash!  It is a sage green that leans yellow with a teal blue shimmer.  Although it doesn't show in the non-flash pic above, it does show IRL.  Check out the flash picture and you can get an idea of how beautiful this really is.  Although I wouldn't consider this a jelly, it really does give that jelly feel.  I have heard some bloggers describe this finish as "squishy".  Don't know if I would put it the same way, but it has such a depth filled silky feel.  LOVE it!

Next I stamped China Glaze Kalahari Kiss and BM-206.
This is a simple mani, but I really ended up liking it.  One more pic and then on to the rest of the fabric covered tips.

Look at that blue shimmer showing through the stamping!  What a beauty!

  3. Oh my goodness, this is so pretty! I'm a new follower of yours, and I LOVE your manicures :). I might have to copy this one, since I own Kalahari Kiss. I never would've thought to stamp with it, though!

Did you see my post here http://lightofthemoonnails.blogspot.com/2013/01/my-new-organization.html? Check my polish pebbles, that is how I tested if Kalahari Kiss would stamp well on Gemma!
