If you haven't already guessed, the prompt for The Glittah Pirates is "blog sale/giveaway win. I have been really lucky with giveaways recently, so I had a lot of polish to choose from. In the end, I chose Funky Fingers Primrose. Why? Well I purchased this in a trio as a add on whim when I purchased some highly desired polishes. I didn't own any of this brand and it was cheap, so why not?
When I did my swatchicle with Primrose, I immediately had the idea to do this manicure, however I never actually tried it. Now seemed the perfect time.
I started with two coats of NOPI Yoga then Yogurt stamped with moYou Pro 14 and Finger Paints Black Expressionism.
Here you can see one layer of Primrose on my pinkie.
After doing all my fingers, I decided I wanted an accent nail with a black base and white stamping.
I ended up using three coats of Primrose over all my tips.
I like the concept for this, a color changing top coat over stamping, but not really wild about the actual outcome. I think it is because Primrose has a frosty finish. What do you think? I may have to try this again, using a different polish. Thanks for looking!

DeleteIt's pretty neat actually, makes the topcoated version like you are looking at old photo negatives, if that makes any sense.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't seem overly frosty, but I saw on Fashion Polish you can do a coat of matte top coat, then hint, to remove brush strokes in frosties...
