Day 12 Crumpets 31 DC - Tape

After my last failed tape mani, I was determined that this one would succeed.  I am glad to say that I have ordered striping tape, but it is still on it's way.  So I decided to go another way.  I was inspired by Chloe at Chloe's Nails HERE.  If you want to see how I did it, go to her website, she does a better job showing it than I do.  Send her some love too, we all needs some love.

Speaking of love, there is going to be a lot of it on this post, along with a lot of pics.  The reason is the beautiful, amazing, gorgeous base coat on this mani and the people who provided it.  Some weeks ago, shortly after Christmas, I ordered several polishes from a wonderful website called LLAROWE.  When my package came, this was included.....a sparkly, golden ticket!  On the back it indicated that I was a golden ticket winner and could choose one free polish and to contact them for details.  "Sure," I thought, "afterI purchase two polishes, or free with shipping and handling (I'm skeptical that way).  But no!  One free polish, free of charge, free of shipping, free of everything.  But how to choose!  I spent several days going through their site, Googling colors, just trying to figure it out.  This is what I finally settled on.

This is Ozotic Scatter, a goldish, bronzish duochrome with holo sparkles (boy, spellcheck really didn't like that sentence!)  You think it looks good in the bottle?  Just wait till you see it swatched.....brace yourself for the pics!

Isn't it gorgeous?  Even more so because it was free.  I wore this all by itself for a whole day, partly because I wanted to make sure it was totally dry before I applied the tape, but mostly because I wanted to enjoy it on it's own.  I couldn't stop staring, moving those tips around, enjoying the color change, the holo sparkle!  And I got so many compliments too.

But this is supposed to be about the tape mani, right?  So here is what I did with all this golden goodness.

Using my decorative scissors, I cut scotch tape, placed on half of the nail and painted with two coats of Fantasy Makers Nail in the Coffin.  Then peeled the tape off and added coordinating dots.  The index gold dots are off, but I couldn't care less!  I loved this!  Hope you do to.  Now go check all the other ladies tantalizing tips.

**EDIT**  After I posted this, Skye, from Curly Polish, told me she had almost the exact same mani on and was about to post it herself.  Here we are both thinking we are all creative and stuff.  She's a British blogger who started at about the same time I did, has about the same number of followers and we have some very close manis.  I call her my twinsie across the pond.  Check her version of this mani HERE.

  1. I know the feeling when you paint your nails with a gorgeous color, and then just stare at them every chance you get: when typing, holding hands with your boyfriend, eating, you get the picture :) And yes, a beautiful color! And you caught it on photos beautifully! And the mani is of course super cute, I don't even have to comment on that :D
