Watermelon Nail Art

Somehow I missed that this was supposed to be posted yesterday!  I think it is because last month I didn't have any challenges scheduled for Tuesdays and Fridays, so I could do whatever I wanted on those days.  Not this month!  I have challenge prompts EVERY day of the week!  I may be overdoing it!  (Tee hee)

Today's prompt for Style Your Nails Popular Summer is fruits.  I have been wanting to do a watermelon mani since last spring, so this seemed an appropriate time.

Of course it helped that I recently purchased Funky Fingers Teal Scales from a blog sale!  Although it looks blue in these photos, it looked much more green in real life, so please excuse the weird color.

I started with Sonnetarium Raspberry Sorbet on my pinkie, middle and index finger.  Raspberry Sorbet has been in my stash forever, but this is the first time it has graced my tips.  Another untried vanquished!  It is this gorgeous watermelon color filled with black and iridescent micro glitters and is the perfect polish for watermelon flesh!  It was released spring 2013, but is still available HERE.

I then did french tips and full coverage on my ring and thumb with Orly Cochella Dweller.  I think this is probably my favorite spring green in my stash as it is a bit greyed and you know how I love me a greyed pastel!

I added Funky Fingers Teal Scales on tips, ring and thumb.  Finally I added a white border on the french tips and topped all with Seche Vite.

I have to admit that I don't really like these as much in the DMP as much as IRL.  In real life, I couldn't stop admiring how these looked.  So summery!

Yep, the mood stone tells the tale, I loved this IRL.  Thanks for looking and commenting.  You can find all the fruit themed manis at Style Your Nails Pinterest board HERE.
