Llama Ombre

Ever notice that some manis look gorgeous...until you see the DMP (dreaded micro pics).  This was one of them.  I seriously loved this on and wore it for a couple of days.  Then went to edit the pics and it really looked like a dirty muddled mess!  Believe me when I say it looked better IRL.

I think I figured out why what I was seeing at my tips didn't translate to the pics.

I started with two coats of Essie Who is the Boss over Orly Ridge Filler.  Who is the Boss is a cool tinted blue with just the slightest blue tinge.

Next I sponged with Hare Polish Ancient Affairs.  I think this polish is why the pics didn't turn out.  See the blue flakies in the top of the bottle?  Those flakies were very evident IRL but I just couldn't capture them in the pics.

I stamped with M63 and Essie Fair Game.  Fair Game is again a cool, blue leaning grey, but darker of course.

Now imagine all that muddy sponging at the tips was filled with tiny blue iridescent flakies and you would get an idea of what it looked like IRL.

This was the closest I could get to capturing the blue iridescence.  I wish I would have been able to capture the true beauty of this one, but at least it brought me pleasure while wearing.  I truly loved it!

Thanks for visiting and don't forget to check out all the other ombres!

  2. I know what you mean about seeing micro-pics and think to yourself, "Holy cow, what was I thinking?" However, this is NOT one of those mani'! It's totally pretty close up! Don't be so hard on yourself!

  3. I hate when you can't capture the full beauty of a mani in a picture! :(
